The Green Productivity

The waste water discharged from rubber gloves manufacturing process contains high concentration of solid inorganics and organics pollutants which the standard “A” discharge limit.

To rectify the problem, G.B.M. invested in a state of the art waste water treatment plant on site to handle the waste water. The system efficiently and effectively deals with Latex removal, cooling of waste water, physico-chemical treatment, dissolved air floatation, trickling filtration, activated sludge oxidation, activated carbon, polishing and dewatering using san bed.


The Essential of gloves

Gloves are worn for protection against bacteria and viral contamination. Though one way of avoiding contamination is to have a soap and disinfectant scrub-down. This is not often sufficient protection against subcutaneous penetration of micro-organism and chemicals.

Gloves also provide the wearer with psychological comfort.

Aging Characteristics

The chief criterion is the absence of pinholes (water tightness) in the gloves also of growing importance are the water-extractable protein content and powder level which is believed to be the cause of Latex allergies in some users.

Gloves with good/aging characteristics are important since most gloves are used after being stored for several months. Finally, the aesthetic appeal of colour, feel non-defect’s, good fit and odor are important.


Know Your Gloves

Latex gloves are non-ventilating except at the cuffs. Therefore do not wear gloves over a prolonged period of time. Change gloves frequently wash and rest your hand often as you can.

Select gloves of the right shape and size. A little loose is fine but they should never be too tight. A well fitted glove reduces muscle stress as you flex your hands.

Remember to trim your fingernails long and sharp nails observe the effective use of gloves and may cause them to tear.

Some users may be more sensitive to latex gloves than others. Allergic reactions may develop over a period of time. Look out for signs of skin irritation or development of respiratory problem. See your medical service provider immediately if such symptom occurred.

Gloves may turn brownish during use. This is normal. The reaction of traces of copper (a curing chemical type) found on the glove surface cause the colour change. Also, traces of copper either in your sweaty palms, from your key chains or buckles or even your nickel coins can cause this. Copper accelerates the breakdown on rubber. Therefore, do not place gloves in contact with things of copper.

In storage, avoid excessive heat (40 C or 140’ F). Opened boxes should be shielded from exposure to direct sun or fluorescent lighting.
